Ignition gets air-play on The Dance Chapel and more!

That's right. My friend, Carey Jarvis, received his copy of my Ignition Volume1 mix CD and played it on his radio show. Be sure to check out The Dance Chapel website and sign up for the newsletter. If it's happening in EDM, Carey knows all about it.
In other news, after a long hiatus, I have rejoined the Tastyfresh forum. If you are a Christian and into dance music (even just a little bit), you should consider signing up. There are tons of articles, reviews and even mixes online to go with all the interaction of the forum itself.

It's a new year and I'm back in the groove. Of course it helps to have new energy and motivation. I DJ'd a New Years Eve party and brought out my new Novation X-Station25 synth to enhance the mix. It was a slamming night! I know it was the most fun I've ever had spinning.
The Ignition mix CD idea was developed that night, while I was mixing mostly tech and electro tracks. I decided to pick up the pace of the tracks because there wasn't enough energy in the room. Running the grooves up to around 133-135bpm seemed to do the trick. The whole time I was wondering if this was how new genres of dance music evolve, so I made up a name for it; Tech Noise - from tech house and joyful noise. Adding the numbers modernized it; T3CHN0YZ3.
So anyway, I pulled together some of the tracks that I was laying down and mixed a CD together; Ignition volume1, which you can now download. It's tech and electro house from some of the hottest producers out right now mixed at 133bpm. This combines the blips and bleeps and grooves with a supercharged energy element from the increase in speed. I really do hope you enjoy this mix as much as I do. This is Volume 1 of the "Education Is Instrumental" music series. A sophisticated and high energy mix, SpeechLess is designed to help spark creativity and drive students through completing their tasks. The inspiration for this series came from Carol L. LaMar, a teacher in the public school system.
I compiled and produced this mix under a different alias, mk1615, because it is quite different from my usual mixes. Normally, I work very hard at having the lyrics of the tracks tell the story or preach the sermon. But following the concept of preaching the gospel without using any words required that all of the tracks be instrumental. Therefore only the titles of the tracks could represent what I was trying to communicate. I even applied my hand at a little editing of one of the tracks to "loop-out" the words.
Please enjoy this mix and let me know what you think of it. Does it help you concentrate while you are doing school work or some other task?

Well, it took long enough! But it's finally here. The new mix, "Fuzed", is up and running. "Fuzed" is a full-fledged four-on-the-floor slammer! The concept was to take two tracks and fuse them into one by mixing different elements between them then mix it into another 'fuzed' track. I've heard many DJ's do this live to keep things interesting, but I've never heard it done on a recorded mix. Of course me being who I am, the mix is a lot deeper than just this surface explanation. You'll have to check it out to see what I mean. Drop me a note; let me know what you think on the contact page.

"the Divas!" is a euro-flavored mix of some classic and some new dance tracks. But the twist, or should I say theme, to these tracks is that they are all female lead vocal dance tracks. This is the first in the femvoc series. It will be what I call 'radio-mixed', so as not to compromise the vocals of the divas that are showcased. Enjoy.

"Space" is a swirling thumping breakbeat and big beat mix. Admittedly there are several tracks by Überzone , but that's just because his tracks are so good. It was aired this summer on Carey Jarvis' radio show called The Dance Chapel . Enjoy.
